Noodlin'

I found myself watching a show that I just couldn't turn away from yesterday. I wanted to--it was awful--but I couldn't believe what I was seeing!

Men going in rivers, lakes, any water they thought they could find huge catfish in and catching them with their hands--literally! They were in muddy water, putting their hands under trees, whatever, hoping a huge catfish would latch onto their hands! Gross! I wouldn't even put my hand in that kind of water, much less feel around on the bottom for a fish! Of course, they could also find snakes, turtles and other things that bite first! And they were proud of the scars from being bitten by the huge catfish! These crazy guys were excited about the process! The women (NOT in the water) not so much! Well, it's good for kids to have one sane parent! The guys said catching one gave them a rush--I wonder how the guy who was bitten by the copperhead felt! Alittle more than whoops!

There are other dangers, too. Old roads now underwater that fall apart and trap people until they drown. This was going on in OK but it most likely goes on all over the US.

Did You Miss Me?

Well, I'm screaming now but not for ice cream! For the past several days we haven't been able to get on the internet because at&t was having a problem with the dial-up number we use! Talk about aggravation! Grrrr!

Actually, I don't really need to be on the computer--it's getting close to time to move and I have a ton of things to do! My foot is bothering me and I need to go see the doctor. I have a small rash on my calf and one of the anti-biotics made me throw up some expensive cherries!

It's raining cats and dogs today so I most likely will not be able to get to the PO to mail some care packages! I have to disconnect my car battery and connect it whenever I use the car--not something I want to do in the rain!  Frustration level going up! I had to preform that little act in front of 2 guys one night--they were sitting in a car next to mine! I would've loved to have said penny for your thoughts, heh!

Yeah, it's a laugh a minute around here lately! ;)

We All Scream......

I gave in to temptation yesterday and went by the DQ and had a cone of luscious soft ice cream! Is there anything better? I have to have one now and then to satisfy my soul! It also reminds me of being at home and going to the DQ and all the frozen delights! I usually got a butterscotch sundae but I also liked banana splits and milk shakes! Yummy, yummy, yummy!

I was looking at magazines to send to a soldier and look what I found!

Something for me!

There are several pictures and a cover of Tom in the July issue of Cowboys & Indians.

All-Star Game

It was fun to see all the retired baseball players at the All-Star game Tuesday night. Willie Mays seemed upset and it made me wonder if he has some sort of dementia.

Why was I interested? I iike baseball. I'm not nutty about it, but I like it.

In 1998, I won a trip to the All-Star game. Actually, we were suppose to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, then the game. We were arguing and got to the airport with the plane still attached to the airport, but we were downstairs and they wouldn't hold it for us. So no Rock and Roll. We flew in  and there were all sorts of entertaining going on. From the players hitting balls in the stands, to the Budweiser horses in all their beauty!

We got to see Mark Mcguire and Cal Ripen play. We spent the night in Cleveland and flew to Pittsburgh the next day, rented a car and drove to Cooperstown to see the Baseball Hall of Fame.  Very interesting and fun!

We spent the night in a bed and breakfast and flew home the next day.

Question of the Day

How will they blame this on McCain?

Open Sesame

Why is it that everything seems so hard to open? From a bag of snack foods that are at risk of exploding, to toys, CDs, DVDs, medicine, etc?

I finally remembered to tell the pharmacist I wanted flip-top bottles and what a relief! No more sending my BP over the edge while struggling with a child- proof bottle! Now if only they could make dvds you could open in less than 30 frustrating minutes! I can never get the plastic strip to come off in one piece! It always seems to come off in itty-bitty pieces that can drive me nuts! I am becoming educated, though--I keep a pair of scissors handy!

Happy 4th of July

There is a very pretty site related to the 4th of July here:

Enjoy the day and don't forget the troops who are working so hard in far away countries to keep us free!
