Have a Safe and Happy New Year!

Wish you could be in Times Square watching the ball drop at midnight? Well, you can! Sort of. You can log onto:

and watch the ball drop online. You'll have to furnish your own hats and noisemakers and sadly, Dick Clark is unavailable, but the upgrade of the ball is said to be spectacular!

I hope 2008 is a great year for all of us!

Happy New Year to everyone!

  1. NYC isn’t the only place where a ball will drop at midnight tonight as you can see in the article “Asteroid returns to Wetumpka” @ http://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071231/NEWS01/712310304/1007.

I know everyone is familiar with the song “Stars Fell on Alabama”. A little town locally known as “Slapout” (but its real name is Holtville) a few miles north-northwest of Wetumpka has a slogan of “Slapout - Where the stars fell on Alalabama” or something like that. But a star, an asteroid, or something huge from outer space actually did hit the earth millions of years ago between what is now downtown Wetumpka and where I live just a few miles southeast of the town. You can read about it on several websites, one of which is @ http://wetumpka.al.us/Default.asp?ID=145.

That’s just a bit of Alabama trivia for you and your readers, Linda.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!

  2. Happy New Year! I'll be safe tonight, sitting home, watching football and reading about stars falling on Alabama.

    Cheers!
