Poor Fred

The "wild" pig that was shot by the 11 yr old really does exist and got that big from a pampered diet from the original owners. His name was Fred and he was a Christmas present as a piglet to the man's wife a couple of years ago. He was gentle enough that they let their grandkids play with him.

They decided to sell their pigs and Fred went to the hunting resort, supposedly to breed with other pigs and "probably hunted". He was hunted within a low-fenced area and shot about 6 times. The father of the 11 yr old said he believed the pig was feral at the time of the hunt.

How sad for Fred!

I wouldn't email death threats to the kid like some people have. The owner most likely got a steep price for Fred because of his size and I doubt he's losing any sleep over it!

Poor Fred---all he wanted to do was eat and procreate, and now he's sausage and a head on the wall!
